Lindsay Stevens
SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Hi, I'm Lindsay Stevens, MA, CCC-SLP, a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist with a heart for nurturing infant feeding. For over 20 years, I have specialized in the evaluation, treatment, and management of pediatric feeding, swallowing, speech, language, and communication disorders. My journey in this field is not just professional; it's personal. As a mother of two children who experienced dysphagia in infancy, I deeply understand the challenges and complexities families face with feeding difficulties.
After completing my education and gaining extensive experience, I founded Stevens Speech Pathology in 2018. My goal was to create a sanctuary for children and families grappling with feeding and swallowing disorders and to mentor other clinicians passionate about this field. Prior to starting my own practice, I had the honor of serving at Phoenix Children's Hospital for 16 years. Here, I served medically complex children in the neonatal and cardiac intensive care units, the inpatient rehabilitation program, and outpatient service lines. I specialized in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, was instrumental in implementing the International Dysphagia Diet, and contributed to multiple research studies.
My role at Phoenix Children’s Hospital as the first Clinical Specialist of Speech Pathology for the Rehabilitation Department allowed me to provide transdisciplinary clinical leadership for the Pediatric Feeding Disorders Clinic. I regularly collaborated with the Gastroenterology and Aerodigestive teams, performed modified barium swallow studies (MBSS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing (FEES).
Beyond the hospital setting, I have experience in private practice, home health care, public school systems, and other settings. I joined Parapharma Tech, the makers of Gelmix and Purathick, as the Medical Facilities Manager in November 2020 as another step in my ongoing commitment to educating on pediatric feeding disorders and dysphagia management. I also provide peer review for Grand Canyon University’s dysphagia curriculum and serve as a supervisor of SLPAs through a local agency.
My extensive network of professionals in Arizona, including dietitians, physicians, and therapists, complements my practice, ensuring a comprehensive approach to each child's care.
I earned an ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) and am passionate about continuous learning and regularly engage in continuing education opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge and bring the most current evidence-based practice to my care.
